What is Sportsviews?
Sportsviews is a sports community dedicated to social betting, blogging and
sharing pictures and videos. You can make friends or meet up with existing
friends and challenge them to bet on anything sports related in the world. You
can also blog and share videos and pictures and have other members rate them to
accumulate Sportsviews points. All bets are created by our members.
Is Sportsviews free?
Yes, Sportsviews requires no money to sign up or participate in bets. It's all
for fun.
How
can I report a lewd or offensive bet, video, blog or picture?
Sexually explicit posts, nudity, and bets that are hateful to other users are
not permitted on Sportsviews. Please report them to support@Sportsviews.com
How do I win Free Game Tickets?
To win one of the free monthly prizes, you need to finish as one of the top 3 SVp gainers by the end of each month. To check your status and see how you rank among the other members, visit the Leaders section and sort the list by “This Month”.
Winners will be contacted by Sportsviews and they will have 10 days to reply with a choice of a pair of game tickets to any event offered on Stubhub.com. The tickets will be purchased by Sportsviews and sent to the winners mailing address. A proof of address and identity will have to be provided to Sportsviews in order to have the prize issued.
No member can win more than one pair of game tickets within a 3 month period. Keep in mind, however that you are still contributing towards your yearly SVp total, where we will have a Grand Prize!
In the case of a tie or where Sportsviews is unable to purchase the requested tickets, we reserve the right to issue the cash equivalent in gift certificates or cash. The maximum value for each pair of tickets can not exceed $250USD. In the case of a tie, the members that tie for that position will split the value of that particular prize.
Invited friends must join during that calendar month to have the SVp count towards your monthly total. Only bets that are closed during that calendar month count.
You must be an active member to qualify for the prizes. Sportsviews reserves the right to disqualify any member if there is any suspicion of foul play. In such a case, the next leader will move up on the list. Sportsviews has sixty days to deliver the prize, and we do not take responsibility for mail transit times. Sportsviews reserves the right to cancel this contest without notice.
Employees and relatives of Sportsviews and the employees and relatives of any third party company or individual that Sportsviews has a business relationship with do not qualify for these prizes. This contest is effective as of November 1st 2008.
Good luck to all!
How do I create a bet?
Member created
bets are what makes Sportsviews a social community!
Click on "Create a Bet" button and the first thing you'll need to do is decide whether your bet should be a "Prediction" Bet, or a "Majority" Bet.Then you will enter your "Bet Question" and an optional description. The question should be descriptive enough to get people to place bets on it. People should know just by reading the question what your bet's all about, so they'll know if it suits their interests. For example: "Which NFL team is better, the Patriots or the Cowboys?" is a much better question than "Which is better?"
Once that is done, you will have to enter your "Bet Choices" and add pictures to illustrate your bet choices by clicking "add image. For a "Majority" bet, you will have to set the "closing date", which is the date where no one can bet anymore, and the date that the bet is automatically settled. For a "Prediction" bet, you will have to set the "closing date", which is the date where no one can bet anymore, as well as the "settle date" which is the date where you have to enter the outcome to settle the bet, and the winners will receive their pot. If you are writing an outcome based bet, make sure that it closes before the outcome will be known, so no one will cheat. For example, if a football game is on Sunday, you want the bet to close on Saturday.
Next choose your ante. This is the amount of Sportsviews points that players will risk on your bet when they play. You can enter as little as 1 Sportsviews point or as many as 10,000, but keep in mind that a high ante may scare off potential players.
After that you must choose the sports category your bet belongs in. Please try and make sure that you're choosing the right category for your bet as it will help other users find it easily.
And that's it! Click "Submit" and Sportsviews will show you the new bet you've created and ask you to confirm it or modify it. Now you can send it to all your friends and see what they think!
What are all the different
kinds of bets?
We have a variety of different kinds of bets to fit the needs of Sportsviews
users, so that you can predict the future, quiz people's general knowledge, or
get their opinion on any sport. These are the different kinds of bets we
feature on Sportsviews and how to use them:
Prediction bets are to predict the future. All the sports bets are bets with outcomes that will be known, but can't be known in advance.
Majority bets are to poll other Sportsviews members about themselves or their opinions. Any bet that cannot be factually settled should be Majority Wins, such as "Who is the best tennis player?" or "Who's your favorite quarterback?" For Majority bets, the betting trend will be hidden until you place a bet -- that way, people will vote according to their opinions, and not follow the crowd.
How do I settle a bet?
To settle a bet, you will have to go to your bets under "My Views/Bets/Unsettled
Bets".
Once there, you will see a list of bets that are waiting to be settled by you. Note that Majority bets settle automatically.
How do I place a bet?
Placing a bet is easy! Find one of the many questions all over Sportsviews and
click on the question to open the bet detail page. Once inside, click on the
answer that you think is the winner.
Can I edit my bet if I made a
mistake?
No, once a bet is placed, it is final. No one can change it.
What is the pot/ante?
The ante is how much you risk when you place a bet. It's how much you will lose
if you lose the bet. The pot is the total amount that all players have bet, all
the antes from all the players added together. When the bet is settled, the pot
will be distributed evenly between all the winning players.
How is the pot
distributed after a bet is settled?
Once the event has occurred and the bet has been
settles, the pot is distributed. In a prediction bet, he pot is evenly
distributed amongst all the members who predicted the correct outcome. In a
majority bet, the pot is distributed amongst all the members who chose the
majority winning choice.
What happens when the bet is a
draw?
When a bet is settled as a draw, all antes are returned to the players.
What is SVp?
SVp is
simply an icon that represents "Sportsviews Points", a currency that is used on
Sportsviews.com. SVp has no monetary value.
Is the money real?
No, Sportsviews points have no monetary value whatsoever. They are a
convenient way of keeping score to see how you rank against other users. They
are also used for making acquisitions of players, teams, and more.
How do I accumulate
Sportsviews points?
Remember, the more you contribute to the
community, the faster you can earn Sportsviews points. You can accumulate
Sportsviews points in the following ways:
50,000 SVp for joining.
1,000 SVp for every friend that you invite and joins Sportsviews.
Winning bets placed. SVp amount varies depending on the pot size.
When others rate your bets, videos, blogs or pictures:
***The more active a member you are, the faster you can earn Sportsviews points.***
Example: Join today and get 50,000 SVp, invite 10 friends and get 10,000 SVp, post a few of your favorite videos, create a few bets, and before you know it may have 500 ratings on all you posts with an average score of 4 stars, which is equivalent to about 50,000 SVp. Now place a bet for a pot of 100,000 SVp and you may split the pot with 5 others for 20,000 SVp each.
You now have a balance of 130,000 SVp.
What do the star ratings mean?
Star ratings are an indication of how others view your bets, settlement of bets,
shared videos, blog posts or pictures. After a user has posted a bet, blog, video or
picture you have the option of giving the post a rating of 1-5 stars where 1
star means you didn’t like the post much, and 5 meaning it was awesome.
What
is "My Net Worth"?
Your 'Net Worth' is the balance that takes everything into account: Sportsviews

To acquire an asset i.e., players, teams, etc. go

find an asset you like, you can place a bid.
If no member has already acquired the asset, you can purchase it for the listed starting price. If however, a member already owns an asset, your bid must be at least 5,000 SVp more then the value of the asset you are bidding on. Once you confirm your bid, you will be the new owner of the asset, and the new value of the asset will be the price you paid for it.
Why was my bet, blog
